06Z MSLP analysis shows a tropical low over Southern Philippines.High clouds from convection near the tropical low has been providing cloudy and cool conditions over Kota Kinabalu today.The tropical weather system is expected to lie over the South China Sea over the next few days leading to moderate southwest monsoon conditions until the southwest monsoon weakens during the weekend.The southwest monsoon possibly strengthens again early next week but still some uncertainty.

Forecast gives more weightage to the ECMWF model than the GFS model.
